Name
Paradisean is more than just a name to us; it is a tapestry of our family's identity. At its heart, it is an anagram of Aspen and Adria, our twin daughters, whom we named after our passions.
The word itself evokes a sense of "paradise" — a tranquil, blissful sanctuary we hope this vessel provides as we navigate the world together. It also draws inspiration from the Bird of Paradise, a symbol of freedom and beauty that serves as the guiding compass for our visual identity.
Logo
Our logo was designed to be viewed from two perspectives, bridging ancient voyaging traditions with the spirit of our vessel:
From Left to Right: The silhouette honors the waʻa kaulua—the double-hulled canoe used by Polynesians to explore the Pacific. Look closely at the twin traditional crab-claw sails, and you will find the Chinese character 羽 (Yǔ). Meaning "feather," it is the shared character in our daughters’ given names, woven into the fabric of our sails.
From Right to Left: The image transforms into a bird in flight, a nod to the Bird of Paradise and the grace with which we hope to explore the world.
